Distant Weddings

Distant Weddings: WordPress Case Study

Distant Weddings describes itself as "an online wedding service": couples book a date, complete a marriage application online and marry by video call, with the marriage conducted through the state of Utah. We built the service's WordPress website, which takes a couple from the first question to a booked ceremony.

The Challenge

Distant Weddings sells a legal ceremony to couples who may be in different cities or countries and have never used a service like it. The site has to explain how an online marriage works and whether it is legal for them, then move them through booking and the application without a phone call.

Our Approach

  • •Built on WordPress with Elementor, which lets the team edit pages, pricing and articles in the browser.
  • •The home page leads with the three steps (book, apply, marry), and a "Get Married" button stays in the header.
  • •Separate pages for each ceremony type, including same-sex, military and international couples who need an apostille, answer the questions each group asks.
  • •A short quiz checks whether a couple is a good fit before they book, and a call-back form catches people who want to talk first.
  • •Trustpilot reviews and an FAQ sit on the home page, where a couple decides whether to trust an online service.

The Results

  • ✓The site is live and in use today. We did not measure traffic or bookings for this project, so this page describes the build and makes no performance claim.
